### Supplements
The most common topic for questions!
Are they helpful?
Which do we use? What do I recommend?
First off...
Chat to your doctor before trying anything new.
Second... there is NO supplement that can make up for poor nutrition.
If your nutrition is on point, then there are a few supplements that can help balance things out.
**Protein**
There is nothing wrong with using a protein powder to help hit daily protein needs and it's an easy way to get nutrients through adding in ingredients like frozen cauliflower, spinach, kale, avocado, etc.
Look for a high quality whey or soy free vegan option that is void of added sugar, weird additives, etc. A crappy powder not only taste bad but can also lead to gastro issues like bloating and gas.
We've used Gnarly for years.
**Magnesium**
Due to poor soil quality, most people are deficient in magnesium. Magnesium helps muscle recovery, cramps, gut issues and helps the body battle stress.
You can find topical magnesium, pills or powder. I use Calm Vitality.
**Collagen**
Collagen can help repair the gut if leaky gut was ever an issue. It's also extremely beneficial for joint health, hair, nails and skin.
There are SO many options from beef collagen to vegan algae collagen.
We use Gnarly.
**Greens/Reds**
A diet that is as diverse as possible is the best way to ensure the most nutrients. But our stores offer the same items every time and I'm going to guess you stick to the same veggies each week.
Green supplements are a great way to diversify your diet and get everything from vitamins and minerals to pro and prebiotics.
