# Lore :::warning SPOILERS AHEAD FOR FRIGID ::: **Frigid** is a game set in the year 2044, a containment union of aliens monitored us and only decided "hm, we need more space to contain monsters" - blocking the sun's light from Earth and using Earth as a prison cell for their monsters. ## Brief A few years from now, technology has gotten bigger and badder. Massflight shuttless have been made which essentially move people across air very fast, bioengineered diseases escaped containment from the government, aliens were monitoring us and decided "yep it's time for them to go" and invaded us - but not after they practically shielded the Earth from the sun - causing us to freeze; the government has one last heavily defended area and are flying massflight shuttles to get everyone "safe". ## Detailed There is an alien union of hundreds of aliens who only have one goal - containing or exterminating all entities/species who pose a threat to the Union. They discovered a star system named "S-0L", due to it being a **S**tar system. They monitored it and especially Earth ever since the cavemen were apes, and the apes were microbial bacteria. Fast forward to 2044, attempts to fly to a new planet have not succeeded yet and the Earth is in worse condition than ever with garbage patches everywhere and a massive hole in the ozone; massive spikes in skin cancer and the heat is higher than ever. The government has begun plans to take the world for itself with bioengineered diseases and more. Suddenly, the virus got leaked to the public causing even more panic and people getting infected. The Union had enough of this, and with their mass technological advancement - they shielded the Earth from the sun causing our planet to freeze. Billions of people died to the cold, and only a few million were left; and most of those millions were infected. The Union decided they needed a new place to store these monsters, so they decided to dump all the monsters they had in containment onto Earth. The government was defending a military base with all they had - but they needed more, and sent out multiple massflight shuttles to evacuation points to "rescue" (in reality, draft) survivors to help defend the base.
