# Webinar: "Create and share rich Open Educational Resources (OER)" ###### tags: `webinar`, `OER` ## Description In the framework of the Swiss Digital Skills Academy (d-skllls.ch), EPFL is offering an open digital education platform enabling the seamless creation and sharing of rich Open Educational Resources. In this webinar, the underlying conceptual model of the platform will be presented, as well as use cases integrating active pedagogical scenarios for inquiry learning, along with design and computational thinking. The embedding of learning analytics and the support for evidence-based open educational science will also be discussed. ## Dennis Gillet's presentation (selected snapshots) ![](https://i.imgur.com/HzPipnC.png =x250) ![](https://i.imgur.com/O5Or7UZ.png =x250) ![](https://i.imgur.com/TCJhlf6.png =x250) ![](https://i.imgur.com/VG78x2J.png =x250) ![](https://i.imgur.com/zRtuipb.png =x250) ![](https://i.imgur.com/iy8gk2h.png =x250) ![](https://i.imgur.com/lfvGlz0.png =x250) ## Our notes * [Swiss d-skills Academy](https://d-skills.ch/) is at the center of the talk * 13 swiss partners so far from the 4 swiss linguistic regions * OER : Also a culture of sharing, in close relation with CC licenses... * Difference between Rich OER and just OER. Rich OER is the content but also the platform allowing the organization of the content, ie GRAASP (self-promotion much?) * Interesting example with https://www.golabz.eu/ open library, as an example for **sharing**, where the Graasp.eu platform is for **learning** * Difficult to make the convertion from onboarding to recurring users (teachers and students), mostly because teachers need to be ready to use digital technologies * Parents of the kids are an important stakeholder to account for, depending on the age of the students * Learning analytics are the trace that can be studied to improve the Rich OER experience (both the teaching content and the platform), but be carefull because the picture is never complete. Will only captire the digital interaction, but not how the users reflects on the content * How can this be open if this is platform dependent? * Sentence of the day: we don't sell passwords on the darknet :smile_cat: * The sharing has been really been nicely implemented on Graasp (https://builder.graasp.org), taking into account privacy, but also what one wants to share (if the material for students, or the builder for the teachers, etc.) * https://d-skills.ch/workpackages/ ... how can the EPFL Library collaborate/contribute to the workpackage "*DEVELOP DATA LITERACY*"? * ## Questions from Zoom public * I have a (maybe stupid) question. I created an account grasp.. but I can see no other assets or courses and also find nothing in the search function. Is it not possible to "browse" the existing OERs in the platform after creating an account? * Answer: During their construction, all of our ressources are hidden and not publicly shared. They will be in free access at the end of their development. * If I got it right, it is not mandatory to share the ressources with the community? * So currently there are no fully developed resources on graasp.eu which can be accessed? * Answer: No, there are some but ask Denis Gillet about those ressources. * You said, a preview will be available in January. When will we be able to join? as users? * Answer: interface already accessible * Are the formats used embeddable in other spaces like private websites without having to create an account? * Answer: ??? * How can open books, usually findable as PDF or as webpages as Github, be embedded so that one shouldn't leave the learning platform? Ex the PDF in https://www.openbookpublishers.com/product/1080 or https://github.com/EbookFoundation/free-programming-books * Everything is embedded :)
