--- robots: noindex, nofollow tags: pitch ---  # v8 release details (project pitch) ### Problem We want to release version 8 soon, so we need to determine which specific work items are blocking and determine an expected release date. Then work on getting those things done! (It would also be helpful to define a clearer process for future releases so we don't have to figure everything out again each time.) ### Appetite 4 weeks total: define release-related work items and a timeline by the end of this week, and spend the rest of the month working on them. ### Solution The first goal is to figure out a reasonable estimated release date (or at least a beta date) by the end of this week. We already have some of the work items (and out of scope items) listed in [Scope for V8 fluentui/react](/3IjQJtqHRl2mx_4nT0oDvQ). This needs to be fleshed out, with various open questions answered, and things assigned to people.
