## Opportunities for Improvement

### Needs Discussion Issues
Problem: These issue tend to drag on for years (some that are even 2 years old) that still haven't been closed. The hypothesis is that folks are aware of the issues that are currently on them - however they don't have the time to close down those discussion issues or they feel they don't have the answer/authority/automony? to resolve the issue.

Solutions:
1. Set aside time to close down on issues
2. Build in time during the sprint to close discussions
3. Build in time during the day
4. Check point and have specific pushes
5. Set a policy on decision making, make that public, and ensure we adhere to that policy (this might be a good first experiment) - and then there's an expection process to go longer

### Components that need new or updated ownership
- ScrollablePane - no owner!
- Sticky - no owner!
- DetailsList - update owners
- Grid - No owner and it's not a public documented component
- Text - Needs new onwer for this component
- Tooltip - Is Micah still the code owner for it?

### Need to get super crisp on A11y Issues
- Browser support matrix
- What is our target? Implement the spec or implement for a AT defacto behavior
- Where Narrator bugs go? How do we close the loop?
- What's the deal with High Contrast in Edge? Are we blocked? Do we need to make noise?
- We need an ARIA pattern expert to tell us if we're doing the right thing

### Breaking Behavior Changes (not API changes)
We should add new tags that we can use to identify Behavioral and API breaking changes.

We still need a process around it
- Is is major or minor?
- Where does it go?
- Can it be in the current release?
- How to we test impact?
- Can we batch these issues?

### Epic issues to track component updates
Issues that require complicated updates to components, breaking changes, behavior changes, probably dom structure changes, should get batched.

We can create a single epic issue per component to track the pending refresh for the component. The main body of the issue should indicate of that component is currently being worked on, will be worked on soon, or not scheduled.

### UI Builder and other "products"
Determine if we need to run all feature requests through the same process as we do our component libraries. Does it go on the backlog? Do we assign it to the engineer that is responsible for that product? How do we want to track tasks.?
