# Vampire Antagonist 2023 Note: Requires someone (jacquerel?) to turn vampire into a status effect ## Pitch A crewmate has been infected with a disease that has given them vampiric abilities and weaknesses. This can happen at roundstart and as a midround to an existing player. The disease flavor is mostly to account for "you got infected before the game started and its only taking effect now." To follow in our various goals, Vampire Antagonist should have a skill tree that represents the two distinct objective sets. ### Control The Control side of the tree focuses on Vampire Antagonist as a Conversion Antagonist and should also, if it is not implimented, impliment the hypnosis x-card. Mindshilded and x-carded players can not become thralls, who automatically are informed and are prevented from attacking their Sire. As the sire converts more crew into thralls, they can get more things on their skill tree. When the Vampire is killed the thralls are freed. Only the sire can convert crew into thralls. An example of something on the Control side of the skill tree that is exclusive to Control would be the ability to cast blood spells using the blood of your thralls. ### Bloodshed The Bloodshed side of the tree focuses more on Vampire Antagonist as a scary monster type antagonist like nightmare or changling. While it will roll one member of the crew as an assassination target, with the flavor of "letting go of your inhibitions" or similar, this is the side of the tree that would be for people who just want to be a cool vampire and do scary things and get the shuttle called. They get a few skillpoints right away and get more by sucking blood. An example of something exclusive to Bloodshed is probably something similar to the wizard lich ability or one ressurection. ## Concerns Conversion antags, in general, are tough, but thralls and stuff are part of vampire's fantasy. Hopefully by only having one person capable of conversion and by having the thrall not be an instant thing it will be balanced. Leaning hard on supernatural stuff even though its "space disease that gives you blood powers thats simlar to vampirism" ## Reasons to go through with this I think that vampires are cool. There is a lot of vampire abilities in the game and it would give Orbstation a place to see splattercasting mechanics. An almost fully ability based antagonist that requires no special gear, complicated and unique objectives, and, as an idea, would hopefully push us to do two things that we want to do anyway.
