# Physics Performance Meeting Slides: https://indico.belle2.org/event/4415/ ## Hadron ID MC14 and bucket 16 (Vismaya Vs) * Using default hadron ID selection (incl. >=20 CDC hits) * bucket 16 (20fv) vs MC14ri_a (100fb-1) * signal/background in M(D0) slightly improved for MC14ri_a and bucket16 * K-efficiency decreased for MC14ri_a and bucket16, both for CDC and TOP * ROC curves for positive and negative tracks are compared for MC13/proc11 and MC14ri_a/bucket16 * a more quantitative study for the charge asymmetry will follow soon. #### Questions * Abtin: page 14, what is the main difference between MC13 and MC14? > Jake: Updated dE/dx calibration payloads, MC14ri_a are more realistic and are based on data. * Abtin: Have you checked other subdetectors? > Vismaya: Not yet. > Angelo: Significant improvement for ARICH has been shown in hadron ID meetings. * Torben/Angelo: Is the charge asymmetry mostly from the efficiency or mis-id? > page 22 (backup): The problem is in the efficiency. And yes, all tracks are in the TOP accepetance. * Angelo: Please plot the asymmetry directly, not only overlayed ROC curves. * Torben: Timeline for corrections? > Saurabh: Until end of next week, proc12 was only release yesterday. > Angelo: We will also release the systematics framework, so analysts can choose to use tables or the systematics framework. * Frank: page 5, is the yield difference from changes to DECAY.DEC? > Saurabh: Since we see it in data as well, i suspects it is a changed tracking efficiency. ## Hadron ID (Angelo) * Received requests to provide HID corrections without >=20 CDC hits: * Angelo: the CDC hit requirement is motivated by dE/dx providing very poor separation below that threshold. I would expect that if a track reaches the TOP or the ARICH, it is likely to have >20 CDC hits, so by releasing the requirement the PID performance can only degrade. If you rely on good hadron ID, then it is not recommended to use tracks with <20 CDC hits. If you have a strong case for releasing this requirement, please report it to the Hadron ID meeting. ## Tracking (Petar) * studies for bucket16 and MC14ri_a in progress * dedicated meeting before the performance workshop to summarize the status [link] ## Neutrals (Savino) * instructions for energy bias correction available now: https://confluence.desy.de/display/BI/Neutrals+Performance#NeutralsPerformance-PhotonEnergyBiasCorrection * photon timing calibration reported in ECL meeting, will be available in next processing only * bucket16 and MC14ri_a for pi0 and gamma efficiencies to be checked
