--- title: Recurring Potatoes and Onions tags: Sprint, Potato, Onion, Farms --- # Recurring Potatoes and Onions :potato: ## Background We have two new produce contacts in the Pacific Northwest. Our goal is to set up (4) recurring deals for next week by this Wednesday. *Waiting on the following info from Ben:* - Name of both farms - Cost of onions - How many onions fit on a truck? ## Core Details of the Deal #### Bart Connors: Potato Contact - Cleaned and packaged - $100/ton ($1/20lb) - This is a little more expensive than the potatoes from Anne, but Bart has virtually no limits on quantity we purchase (whereas Anne has restrictions on delivery in March) - 10-lb bags - Bart wants to set up recurring deals right away - (Same operationally as Anne at Desert Ridge produce, but not organic) #### Adam Jensen: Onion Contact - *(Adam also has potatoes, but his are "seed potatoes," which are unwashed and unpackaged, so we are not buying these)* - 50-lb bags of packaged, ready-to-go jumbo yellow onions *We want to target (1) nearby food banks and (2) Western states with knowledge of food desert landscape in their area. Eventually, we'd like to also target Midwest states.* ## Must-have Information :bangbang: - **Days accepting delivery** - We want to get as many days as possible and as wide of time intervals as we can - **Recurring? How often?** - Setting up recurring deals will be logistically easier than having several sporadic deals. - **Storage capacity of food bank** - **Type of food they'll take** - potatoes, onions, or both - **Quantity they can take** - It is preferable to take at least 1 full truckload (~25 pallets / 40,000lbs potatoes) ### Notes! - Look up phone numbers on Google because some of the oens on the doc are wrong or old. - Most of the OR/WA food banks already have potato/onion deals, so look in other states if possible!
