# DEVxDAO: future work that funding would enable Core protocol and software that has been financed so far is atomic swaps between Bitcoin and Monero (using Taproot and on-chain scripts, unless not activated by Speedy Trial in November '21, in which case we fall back to ECDSA). Our end product is a peer-to-peer swap engine implementing Bitcoin and Monero as swap pairings, without a centralized market maker. With more funding, we can _hire_ other highly qualified profiles and extend the scope of our R&D as follows: ## Research - Integration with Lightning, i.e. `Lightning Bitcoin`⇆`Monero` (we believe it is a necessary step for swap inclusion on mobile environments) - Off-chain multisig in Taproot with `MuSig2` protocol - Monero transaction chaining, necessary to enable Monero Payment Channels and new swap protocols ## Development - After researching Lightning: integrating it in the software stack - Other swap pairs: `Bitcoin`⇆`shielded ZCash` atomic swap was achieved (prototype) last week by a member of the Farcaster team. Next to Monero, this is arguably the most useful swap pair. - Extending our Monero Rust codebase: this is a core library of the Monero Rust stack and thus helpful to the entire Monero community, irrespective of atomic swaps
