# Mahabharata Murders My fascination for The Mahabharata is needless to say anymore. Certainly when I found out while roaming in the Hoichoi website about this series "Mahabharata Murders", the title was enough to pique my interest. And when I clicked on the series and stole a quick glance in synopsis, it only plummet my expectation further when I realized the Killer and victims team references are truly picked from The Mahabharata. # Synopsis: Story of a serial killer and murders. A serial killer asserting himself as Duryodhana of 21st century! And the killer is labeling some persons as Today's Pandava and punishing them for their sins demonstrating the modern version of the Kurukshetra, the final war of the Mahabharata. The killer even following the order of death of the Pandavs and the pattern of how they had died in history! The killer commence with murdering Draupadi first (an actress named Devika), proceeded with Sahadev (An IT talent) then Nakul and goes on, before the justice department could even grasp anything of what the bleeding hell is happening! The whole police and detective department were thrown into bewilderment trying to connect the dots and finding a clue to halt the murders. However, as cliché as the justice department and not innovative tactless seniors, they don't want to think out of the box and only feel safe to stick to the established order and protocols. Given to the circumstance obviously the protocols are in no use to chase such a person who had planned all the murders while dropping the clue who might be the last target. Now let's see the if the justice can get a hold of the killer before the murders all the Pandavas! And mostly why all of a sudden A Duryadhana rose and decided to punish The Pandavas! What is the motive or story behind such dramatic yet cruel act. # The Trilling facts The fun of watching this series will increase many times more if you have read The Mahabharata, because of the reference. And most intriguing part was, for a certain time I have been interested to comprehend the major characters of Mahabharata individually and specifically. And that interest grew more when I encounter Mahmud who have written 3 fabulous books focusing one of the 3 major characters of Mahabharata, Draupadi, Karna and Shakuni. And how co-incidental it can be, after reading those 3 books, I have been dying to read a book from that perspective about Duryodhana. And then I encounter this series where A villain masked as Duryodhana who is asserting that famous heroes of the Mahabharata, The Pandava brothers as villain and murdering them for their sins. And I loved the names of each episode including the way story is connected with the name! # Plot & Plot hole The theme and plot was amazing. To think covering such a grand theme and adapting and blending it with our modern time is quite a dare for the director. Only perhaps because I prefer scrutiny when it comes to my obsession, I found there were some loophole in story building! I can discern they were trying hard to wrap up the story in the finishing touch. Also plausibly it would be better if they were to extend the episodes a little further because it felt like the later half of the story were kind of loosing the track. But I assume that only because of my understanding of reference. If you watch it only as a series, it wouldn't look loose. Regardless, I enjoyed very much. I felt like I too was very intrigued along the the detectives while searching for the clues and fitting the puzzles. Needless to say that it was indeed a good-watch type mystery thriller.
