# Week0 Update The past days in preparation for the cohort 6 I have mostly spent my time, reviewing and researching about the open problems proposed by the client teams and the EIPs finalized/considered to be included in Fusaka. I have narrowed down the projects that I am interested to work on: 1. [EIP-7805](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-7805)(FOCIL) 2. Implement Beacon API Endpoints for [Ream client](https://github.com/ReamLabs/ream). # EIP-7805(FOCIL): I have been following the implementation of the EIP 7805 among different clients. From the proposed projects I am interested in implmenting it for Erigon and Grandine. I am thinking about implementing the EIP starting with one of the clients and then move towards the implemeting it for the other clients eventually during the cohort. ## Motivation: FOCIL allows the proposers to participate in the block building and impose certain rulings on how block is created. Currently most blocks are externally built and some transactions face the issue of being censored. FOCIL introduces a committee based mechanism which produces IL(inclusion lists) i.e a list of transactions which have to be added in the block for the block to be considered valid. Obviously there are other list of rules aswell which are to be checked on top of it. # Beacon API Endpoints for Ream client: Ream is a Rust client for Beam chain. Beam chains ideas was proposed by Justin Drake at DevCon 2024. In a nutshell it introduces performance necessary upgrades, and introduces all the latest research ideas for a more perfomant Ethereum consensus layer. ## Motivation: Ream client is still in very early stages. By implementing the beacon api endpoints it will allow the interaction with the beacon chain implementation. I think its a good project to pursue in order to understand how the beam chain works internally. Some endpoints will be staright forward since they might some common implementation details with the current beacon chain. # Goals for the week 1: For now I am interested in the 2 projects. Ill try to narrow down the choice between the 2 but if possible I can also work on both depending on if other cohort pariticipants are also interested to work together. Ill also read more in depth regarding the implementation details for the FOCIL in the EIP and go through other client implementation. Ill document the implementation plan and how to move forward with it.
