--- # The new Founders programme --- We first ran the Founders programme in 2018. [Yalla Cooperative](https://www.yallacooperative.com/) was the result. --- Applications are opening for a new Founders programme. --- Please do not apply for this programme unless you are very sure it is right for you. --- ## The programme --- 1. Apply in pairs. You will need to support each other. This is not a programme for individuals. --- 2. You will each be employed as an apprentice. Your base salary will be the minimum apprentice wage of £6.40 per hour on a 30-hour week, or £832 per month. --- 3. This base salary is not enough to live on nor does it contribute to FAC's overheads. Your goal for the year is to address both of these issues while gaining experience as a developer. --- 4. We will support you to keep learning, find work, or bid for funding, but it will be your responsibility to take the initiative and manage your own time. --- 5. Anything you earn as a developer over the length of the apprenticeship will be split with FAC 50/50 and added to your base salary. --- 6. It is very important to us that you complete your apprenticeship, which is a 14-month commitment. Please do not apply if you don't think you can commit to this. --- 7. If you decide to apply, we expect you to outline your plans as part of your application. --- 8. Beyond the apprenticeship itself, we expect you to contribute to the FAC community, but that will not be your main focus. --- 9. We suggest starting with one or two pro bono projects that interest you in order to develop a good workflow and a portfolio before you take on the pressure of paid work. --- 10.
