# 20 --- ## FAC residency --- We have a tradition at FAC of hiring one person out of each cohort to act as Course Facilitator for a term on the full-time programme before they go on to continue their career as a software developer. --- We have taken a break from doing this in 2022, but in 2023 we are planning to re-start the tradition. --- The role will suit people who: - Enjoy supporting other people to find their own solutions to problems - Enjoy improvising - Feel ready for an apprenticeship --- The role will not suit people who: - Enjoy pointing out the solution to a problem - Don't enjoy uncertainty and need a clear structure - Don't yet feel ready for an apprenticeship --- Acting as Course Facilitator has given people experience that complements their technical skills and they have gone onto successful software developer careers. --- The commitment would be for 7 months, 4 days per week, with 3 months for training and 4 months as course facilitator. --- We would pay at the same rate as an apprentice and we would prioritise finding them a developer role at the end of the residency. --- Any questions? --- Please DM me if you think you might be interested. --- Thank you. --- ## John Ajakaiye Our new Partnerships Lead is arriving next week.
