# .NET Brains Trust update --- First update since March 6th, apologies if we've been slow. --- ## Some context --- Founders and Coders started in 2014 as a free peer-led programme, run by volunteers --- The structure, such as was: a new project each week --- By 2017, it was 8 projects in 8 weeks, then 2 more in 6. 14 weeks in all. --- Then in 2021, came apprenticeships: we split the course in two. Skills bootcamp first, then an apprenticeship. --- ## How it works now --- First, the application, then the Skills Bootcamp, which means we've covered 4 weeks' worth of the old course by the time the apprenticeship starts. --- For the apprenticeship, it's now just 4 projects, 3 weeks each. The curriculum is being re-written as we speak --- ### Course content, broadly - Project #1: TypeScript and React - Project #2: add SQL and databases - Project #3: C# and .NET - Project #4: Tech for Better --- ### The artefacts we prepare: - A weekly schedule - A project with acceptance criteria - A set of learning outcomes - Preparatory workshops - Links to resources --- ### The timeline: - #1, May 16th-June 6th, close to ready - #2, June 7th-June 27th, somewhat less so - #3, June 28th-July 18th, just getting started - #4, July 19th-August 8th, ready to go --- ## The coursebook ![Screenshot 2024-05-01 at 17.43.55](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/ryowbeezR.png) It's in a PR, available for preview. --- That's where we're at now, from here we'll move quicker. --- Thanks for watching, we'll keep you posted.
