She persuaded Vladimir to go to Baku and enroll in the composition department of the Hajibeyov Conservatory. Three years later, Shainsky received his diploma, but the marriage broke up, and he returned to Moscow.
The composer's second wife was a woman named Natalya. Shainsky was introduced to her by his friend, the songwriter Yuri Entin ; she worked as a housekeeper for some of his acquaintances. In 1971, the couple had a son, Iosif, but they divorced 12 years later. Upon separation, Shainsky left the family an apartment, a dacha, and a car, and supported the child until he was 18.
