## Conquering a volcano in the name of Nouns - Docuseries with Sunny Pires in Nicaragua 🌋

**Sunny Pires** is the first and only professional surfer sponsored with crypto, and Nouns is already making history because of that. Now we're asking for **27,600 USDC + 6 ETH** to take a step further.


**Sunny has a huge impact on the global surfing community, with viewers all over the world paying attention to what he does, including people from the WSL (World Surf League).**

Sunny's significant influence within the surfing niche will showcase new possibilities that web3 and DAOs can offer to professional surfers. This docuseries aims to tangibly share Sunny's message and experience in web3 with both the broader surfing community and all the surrounding communities involved in the surfing world.


After being introduced to Nouns by his manager [Rickyday](https://hackmd.io/@Rickyday/Hy8zxdub6), Sunny received funding from NounsBR for various competitions in Brazil and from NSFW for travel and competing in Hawaii.

As a proud nounish athlete, Sunny goes beyond sporting Nouns stickers on his board and branded clothes. He actively promotes Nouns on his social media platforms and in-person interactions, even telling young surfers about how **Nouns changed his life** and how they can join too.


We want to do something that was never done before for Nouns! With a Noggles flag, we will stick it in the ground! Neil Armstrong vibes! 🏳️

But what does that have to do with surfing? Well, we're heading to Nicaragua, a surfing paradise and home to many volcanoes, to complete this mission. Join us on a 5-episode docuseries adventure with Sunny as he explores beautiful beaches, immerses himself in the local culture, and embarks on the pursuit of conquering a volcano in the name of Nouns.






A filmmaker will travel with us 24/7, and we'll hire professional local filmmakers in Nicaragua to capture surf and nature footage. We've also built a partnership with Flamboiar Media to edit all episodes, ensuring high-end production quality. Additionally, drone, water, and land images will be captured to enrich the visual experience.


Besides editing the episodes, Flamboiar, a professional Brazilian surf media company, will also handle the distribution of the series. They embraced the idea of merging surf and technology and are fully committed to sharing this story with their audience.



The series will be featured on their channels, and they'll also invite Sunny and Ricky for two podcast episodes, one before and one after the trip.

A full article about the trip and how to get involved with Nouns will be published in the Flamboiar physical magazine. The magazine is available for free, strategically placed in surf stores and at events throughout Brazil.

- Five thirty-second teasers, one for each episode, will be posted as reels on Flamboiar's Instagram account.

- Two Flamboiar podcast episodes featuring Sunny and Ricky will be released.

- Two articles/posts about the series will be published on Flamboiar's website and Instagram.

- A full-page article about the series will be featured in Flamboiar's physical magazine.

Besides hiring local experts, we've partnered with Volcano Boarding and Big Foot Hostel, thanks to [Carlos (Noun 976)](https://twitter.com/carlosjmelgar), who lived in Nicaragua, and connected us with them.

Big Foot Hostel is known for its environmental initiatives, including beach clean-ups, turtle rescue, and environmental education for children. In Episode 3, Sunny will visit the hostel and share their story. As an ambassador for [Parley](https://parley.tv/), a Hawaiian company focusing on ocean plastic, Sunny's synergy with the hostel team is evident.

The hostel hosts bi-weekly educational sessions with kids on ocean plastic, where Sunny will join them and showcase Nouns' environmental projects like [Precious Noggles](https://www.instagram.com/p/C3k8BJkJZ5q/) and others.

The Volcano Boarding team will guide Sunny in conquering an active volcano in the name of Nouns - a unique experience as it's the only volcano in the world you can slide down! Weather permitting, we'll also conquer a second volcano with lava 👀

Both the Hostel and Volcano Boarding will be essential parts of the series, and given the beautiful and important work they do, we couldn't leave without showing our appreciation. That's why we'll allocate **1.5K USDC from our total budget to support their environmental initiatives**, such as beach clean-ups, turtle rescue, and children's education - crucial local efforts that need to continue after we leave.
