## Funding Amount
Budget: first time, don't see shuffling much. Run as closely as possible before changing things. Allotment should be $35K. This is incredibly generous!
SC: Feels that this is undersubscribed.
## NumFOCUS criteria
Previous criteria:
- Established Fin need.
- SciPy++ community contribution.
- Academic contribution.

Do we do rolling basis? Does it help?
- NumFOCUS can help advertise the opportunity.
- Looked at applicants only when closed.
- As we found out people could come, we could offer scholarships.
- 2022 was a very messy year due to pandemic + visa issues.
PyData events - have had more struggles early in year. NY event sold out.
