## 🔄 Matrix 1.0 vs. Matrix 2.0

Matrix is evolving. Here's what that means for you:

### Matrix 1.0
- Broadly supported across all clients
- Feature-complete (spaces, threads, E2EE, bridges)
- Used by Cinny, Element (Classic), Nheko, and most other apps

### Matrix 2.0
- Introduces **Sliding Sync** for faster performance
- Supports **OpenID Connect (OIDC)** for better authentication
- Still rolling out in many clients

🟢 **Element X** is the first fully Matrix 2.0-native app — super fast, but still gaining advanced features.

🔵 **Cinny** currently uses Matrix 1.0 — more stable and full-featured, though not as snappy as Element X.

## 💬 How the Bridge Works

Once you join the Matrix Space, you’ll instantly see messages from both **Discord** and **Telegram** — seamlessly integrated.

- 🧠 Usernames and avatars are preserved
- 💬 Replies, threads, and quotes are retained
- 📌 Pinned messages, emoji reactions, edits — all sync
- 🔁 Matrix messages appear on Telegram & Discord in real-time

It doesn’t feel like a bot. It feels native.

## 🔒 About Encryption

Matrix supports **end-to-end encryption** (E2EE), but bridging has limits:

- ✅ **Private Matrix DMs** can be encrypted
- ❌ **Bridged rooms must stay unencrypted** — otherwise the bridges can’t read/write messages
- 🔐 You can still use encrypted rooms for private Matrix-only discussion
