# What worked well

- Quite a lot of people in Gather town, but that included people in-person
- Most interaction happened over Slack, not Gather
- Intro talks / group recaps worked well
- Ability to spontaneously break out to talk about specific was good
- Social
- Socks
- Bingo
- Kahoot quiz
- Having the training event before, to point people towards

# Hackathons Format

- Next time we have 3 options:
- In person only
- Hybrid
- Different platform (Slack + Jitsi / Zoom)
- Slack + Gather
- :point_right: It was good, let's keep the same approach
- 2x major events per year
- Online: Spring
- Hybrid: Autumn (with Summit)
- Any number of small local events
- Organised by ambassadors / anyone
- Training before events again, worked really well :+1:
- Two weeks before next time, not one

# Groups

- More exchange between groups?
- If we have a bigger space it'll be less of an issue
- Pipelines + modules together?
- Split by scientific discipline? (pipelines and modules/subworkflows)
- Split pipeline group into two: new pipelines and one for existing
- Rike did this, could ask how well it worked?
- Don't have groups??
- Difficult to attract people?
- Call them _**tables**_ instead?
- Could also have _**topics**_ for specific big projects?
- At least one group leader with hackathon XP

- Rename groups to tables
- Basically stick to the current structure
- Merge pipelines + modules + subworkflows
- Split into new pipelines / existing

# What didn't work

- Time zones?? (we don't know)
- Stale issue assignments
- Can we automate this? Stale bot but instead of closing the issue, unassign

- Not live-stream this time
- Pre-recorded
- "Office hours" for questions
- Slack channel ping saying "start now"
- Multiple languages?
