**What are you up for?**
Friday 29 September 2023
Mix:
- Within my life I have a need to earn a specific amount of money
- I want to be making more than $100k!
- The thing that I am up for is growing, communities and be generative.
- Well resourced expedition
- I'm really keen to discuss money around Āhau
- Sustainability of finances
- See what other people need
- Will it come from Āhau or somewhere else?
- If that resourcing was available with Āhau, I would be there.
- If 8 - 9 months no money, can scrape together and loop back.
Engie:
- what fires me up:
- supporting whanau, hapu, community to use tech, to build, bridging digital divide
- how do I create opportunities, to start a tech company
- love this team, beautiful diversity
- I'm 100% here to see this through with Ahau
- I'd like to be a "partner" of Ahau
- the tech company I want to start is alongside Ahau
- I think I'm going to be invited to chair my family Marae
- don't want to leave!
- there's a broader picture I'm working on (Mix's summary)
- Ahau is core to that, but not all of it
- energy is there, the time needs to be balanced
- "where am I needed most, where are my skill best used?"
- that's where I go
Jo:
- my work has been supporting "passionate people" (entrepeneurs, project builders, ...)
- part of the pain has been finding out what's missing (for generative communities to thrive)
- ahau is awesome, but it's missing resourcing
- identifying "the system" does not currently work to enable community efforts
- founded on "invisible work", that's not accounted for
- e.g. looking after the kids, getting the internet installed, managing the community space
- Finance 100% the necessary infrastructure for everything to happen
- charity/ philanthropy/ investment ... sectors interests and incentives are NOT aligned.
- => "finance OS" is my interest
- enable collective action between humans
- this has it's best chance if it comes from Te Ao Maori perspective
- "I have a great ambition, but it's also very small because it's about my kids. About the world I want to see them live in."
- providing public digital infrastructure for the Maori economy
- I want to build strong relationships for Ahau and this work
- I don't know what the core of it is right now though
- funding?
- people?
- potential partners
- tim waldren from DIA => consulting lead
- currently blocked on engaging that because:
- is Ben gonna show up?
- unclarity around how the whanau registration worked/ didn't work?
- need to know the shape of the org to know how to connect it with others appropriately
- large opportunity
- cardano
- didn't get Fund10 funding (only a few really well companies got funding)
- could make us a "known company" if I know
- running the fund has levelled up the ream hosting it
- making "project catalyst" replicateable
- who's interested in forking this and running it?
- what if we find more "Engie's", and resource them and their communities
- what if we could support 200 communities
