# Canvas Consent Plans # ###### tags: `HuLAR` `canvas` **Some issues:** - IT-director at UiO doesn't want another consent tool. We need to discuss whether he can stop us from developing it and implement it. - Legal team: If a teacher uses this in his/her research on class-activities it is problematic because the student may find it non-voluntary. However, this is something that is the researcher's responsibility. - We need to clarify this with the IT-director and the legal team. **Time period:** - Clarification with IT-director and the legal team during November 2020. - Potential redesign during December 2020 - Potential implementation during January or early February 2021. Finished by end of February. **1. Improved functionality** 1.1 In researcher mode: - When creating a consent form it has to be in accordance with the new NSD-template. That involves: - Be able to add several consent questions at the bottom of the consent form (e.g. one for each method used in the research). - This implies that the student can then give consent to some but not all consent questions. And they may ask us to remove particular consents. Thus, we must redesign the data model to handle multiple consents within one consent form. Also redesign how consents are administered in the tab 'given consents' (e.g. list each consent given; be able to sort by user). 1.2. The student mode: - The student should be able to select each consent question they agree to. And they should be able to unselect a set of previously given consents.
