# Data Sovereignty and Sharing
## What is a Data Structure for?
A personal note: since I met free software philosophy, I thought about writing on Ethics with binary code order, *translating* to contemporary time the spirit of Spinoza's [Ethica](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVEeXjPiw54), a systematic work that aims to show human beings how to be free, with Happiness strictly related to Freedom.
Along the way, I have seen similar projects, such as [Dyne](https://github.com/dyne), pursue similar goals of "ethical coding", although I do not aim to write the (binary) code, but rather the conceptual mainframe for software design and engineering of Apps.
These apps are designed from the needs of the community (of all communities, or the largest number of them) and to be enjoyed by everyone. It's like building a bridge with criteria not only of usability but also of ecology, proximity of materials, decent wages for workers, etc.
With the advent of the digital age, many bridges have to be built and many ethical environments have to be defined.
Ethics is something that each of us works out from values acquired by Temperament, Education and the transfer from our immediate Environment, and it constantly weighs up against the Moral system closest to us. Indeed, there are numerous moral systems in which we may find ourselves embedded, and many interactions between ethics and morals in the definition of our personal values.
Quoting from my [resume](https://www.encosianima.net/cv.html):
*I thought I could have Ethics demonstrated (citing Spinoza but) replacing geometrical order with Open Source (Philosophy).*
That's it...Why Open Source? Well, a nice incipit to start tackling the issue was Hackers' Ethics, for its practical development and achievement.
The git I'm writing from is an example since every single change and contribution in the code is recorded. [Git](https://git-scm.com/)is, therefore, an ethical app, though it doesn't deal directly with Contents, it helps spread a Value; Open Source.
### Data means Information
Human beings store and use data for several tasks; a database is, therefore, the human part of any software, and managing and protecting data is the object of study of several disciplines (data science is an interdisciplinary field).
A database is an organized collection of structured information, or data, typically stored electronically in a computer system, each digital application we use has a database inside.
### Integral means the Whole
As explained, [**Integral**](https://github.com/encosianima/integral-developing/blob/master/README.md) is a further extension of the concept *HolĂstic*, which point to the Whole in its Entirety.
A similar concept expressed by the term *Pantheistic*, coined in 1697 and linked to previous works of authors such as Spinoza and Giordano Bruno, while the idea of Pantheism also existed in South and East Asian religions (notably Sikhism, Hinduism, Sanamahism, Confucianism, and Taoism).
Focused on human matters, **Integral Data** express the aim to build up applications for a number of purposes concerning all aspects of humans living in any ecosystem.
