# VOTERS.WTF
We are thrilled to announce that the [voters.wtf](https://nouns.wtf/vote/171) project, led by [Danizord](https://twitter.com/danizord), has been selected as the first recipient of funding from DCS. This innovative project is designed to enhance voter participation through a Prop House extension, providing clear metrics such as voter turnout and percentage of voter influence. The platform also features full-featured voter profiles that aggregate data from multiple on and off-chain sources, gamification elements that incentivize voting and delegation, and smart delegate suggestions tailored to each voter's personal history. Additionally, [voters.wtf](https://nouns.wtf/vote/171) makes it easy for users to stay informed and engaged with personalized push notifications for tracking.
# Why voters.wtf?
The voters.wtf project aims to address the issue of low voter participation on Prop House, where on average, over 90% of voters are not actively participating in rounds. This leaves the decision-making power in the hands of a small group of active voters, with 1-3 addresses controlling the majority of the voting power.
This centralization poses risks and challenges for the community, particularly when it comes to evaluating and prioritizing proposals. The process of reading through each proposal, assessing risks and benefits, and checking reputations can be time-consuming and overwhelming for many holders.
To mitigate this issue, voters.wtf is introducing a new way for holders to participate in the voting process through delegation. Delegation allows holders to assign their voting power to an active delegate who represents their interests and has a relatively small voting power. This not only increases voter participation but also promotes decentralization and prevents potential manipulative voting practices.
However, the process of finding and monitoring a reliable delegate can be difficult and requires ongoing attention and effort from the delegator. The voters.wtf project aims to streamline this process by providing clear metrics, including voter turnout and % voter influence, full-featured voter profiles that aggregate data from multiple on and off-chain sources, gamification elements that incentivize voting and delegation, and smart delegate suggestions tailored to each voter's personal history. Additionally, the platform includes easy tracking with personalized push notifications, making it easier for holders to stay informed and engaged with the voting process.
# The Start of voters.wtf
[voters.wtf](https://nouns.wtf/vote/171) was first conceptualized during a [Prop House Hackaton](https://prop.house/nouns/prop-house-hackathon/1897) where it received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. Despite not winning the hackathon, the team behind [voters.wtf](https://nouns.wtf/vote/171) saw potential in the project and decided to continue development.
In November 2022, voters.wtf was awarded a retro grant of Ξ2 from NSFW as recognition of the potential impact it could have on the Prop House community. The project's origins and motivations can be found in the "Background" and "Problem" sections of the hackmd.io link provided.
# The State of [voters.wtf](https://www.voters.wtf/nouns)
- High usage despite lack of analytics tracking
- In need of development and bug fixes, including mobile compatibility and faster navigation between DAOs
- User experience improvements necessary
- Plan for frequent, small releases with community feedback
- Anticipation of significant growth in user base
- Expects positive impact on voter turnout, delegation, and decentralization of voting power in the near future.
# The Focus [voters.wtf](https://www.voters.wtf/nouns) with the DCS Grant
With the grant from DCS, the objectives of voters.wtf include:
- Improving awareness of voter turnout and voting power distribution within the community
- Creating a positive feedback loop to encourage engagement and reward the most active voters
- Reducing friction in the voting and delegation process through 1-click delegations, personalized suggestions, and a user-friendly experience
- Providing clear insights to help delegators make informed decisions when choosing their representatives
- Promoting social accountability through the implementation of public voter profiles that include detailed voting and delegation history.
# The Future of [voters.wtf](https://www.voters.wtf/nouns)
- Decouple from Prop House and cover main DAO governance as well *(including support for any nounish DAO created with Nouns Builder)*
- Integrate with other governance tools *(agora, hon, etc)*
- Add more metrics related to voting power decentralization
- Explore more ways to visualize relationship between voters
- Explore usage of large language models to reason about the content of proposals and provide insights and automations
*"I highly recommend voters.wtf for the DCS grant. [Danizord](https://twitter.com/danizord)'s solutions for reducing friction, increasing engagement, promoting transparency and expanding its scope to cover main DAO governance are practical and effective. The project has a clear vision and will have a measurable impact on the Prop House community."*
