# Genshin Interview: Interpretation Been seeing a lot of YouTubers talk about [the interview](https://www.gamespot.com/articles/genshin-impact-developers-talk-endgame-content-and-welcoming-newcomers/1100-6507942/), the Abyss, and endgame. Here's how the interview read to me: > Q: Currently, the Spiral Abyss is the only true endgame content for players at high Adventure Ranks. Are there any plans to release new, permanent endgame content in the same vein as the Spiral Abyss? - "Abyss is the only endgame right now. Are you going to add more Abyss'es?" > A: The Spiral Abyss is one of the most effective ways [for] players [to] test out their party composition and combat strength. If we design another type of permanent endgame that is similar to the Spiral Abyss, it might end up creating excessive anxiety for our players--not everyone is interested in Musk Reef. - "(By endgame,) Players want to test their party builds and damage. The Abyss is being piggybacked for that." - "It works for now, but it's not great. If we just make a new Abyss and call it 'endgame', the main problem won't be solved, it will just be yet another thing to do/grind/worry about ('create anxiety')." > Just like [the] Genius Invokation TCG that we unveiled in the Special Program for Version 3.2, we are also working on designing more interesting gameplay in the future. As an open-world game, Genshin Impact has a natural compatibility with various types of gameplay, which gives us confidence in the long-term operation. - "We want something better. So we'll keep trying other stuff. Genshin is broad, it'll work out." <br> Nothing in this reply seemed to say or imply "No [combat] endgame". Abyss isn't getting removed, the TCG seems to only be the beginning, and Genshin seems to know where a big endgame pain point is. They also seem to have been testing a lot with new combat formats that line up with "more interesting gameplay" (ie. the flexible Expert mode in event domains, Summer Islands Kazuha domains, Hyakunin Ikki, etc.) so it's not like the devs are doing nothing... In some ways, I actually think this interview is a good sign Hoyoverse is open to ideas. Some endgame ideas have been infinite rising difficulty towers, custom boss fights, and better co-op. I think Hoyoverse would be open to some of that if enough people mention it in the surveys.
