# Karnataka Trees Festival
Karnataka Trees Festival will be a colourful and vibrant festival to celebrate the trees of Karnataka which grow exclusively in each region. This festival is a symbol of Karnataka’s cultural identity.
Tree Worship is part of the inherent culture of Karnataka and this festival seeks to build on the culture of our state to let people know the trees of various regions.
It was decided to come up with a calendar for celebrating various venerated trees like Bilwa, Vakula and Kadamba etc . The festival has to be celebrated along with the tribal communities and folk people . This can also serve as a platform to promote bio diversity.
Also one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.”
KEB seeks to support this goal by organizing Tree Festivals.
