# Skilling in Ecotourism

It is people’s skills that underpin an economy’s capacity to innovate and adopt innovation successfully. Skills are also central to employability and facilitate finding jobs that allow people to realize their potential, contributing to individual well-being and societal cohesion.

Unemployment and under-employment have been a long-standing problem in the Indian economy. Unemployed population in India is expected to be 42.95 Million by the end of 3rd quarter 2021, according to Trading Economics (global macro models and analysts’) expectations. The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) report forecasts the unemployment rate in India as of July 2019 at 7.8%. At the same time, India is witnessing a “youth bulge” in its population. Combining Millennial (those born between 1981 and 1996) and Generation Z (those born after 1996) would account for about 70% of the current Indian population. The choices that Millennial and Generation Z make are disrupting both society and business.

* Conceive and identify and propose new roles in the education and training chain for ecotourism sector “knowledge aggregator”, “competency certifier” and “capacity developer”
