Position Karnataka as an ecotourism hotspot that provides an exceptional ecotourism adventure, in a responsibly sustainable way, which promotes the conservation of both natural and human communities.

Enable a safe environment and trusted experience for tourists through diverse product offerings.

Enable collaboration with tourism stakeholders/entrepueners and local communities to create sustainable and inclusive socioeconomic development for all.

## Mission

To ensure beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders of Karnataka Eco Tourism, the Ecotourism Board , Government of Karnataka shall endeavour to ensure the following –

## Objectives

a.To create awareness on conservation of forests and wildlife amongst the people in
general and children and youth in particular
b. To promote tourism activities with community involvement and also ensure greater
employment opportunities and economic benefits to local population
c. To assist the Government in formulating policies, guidelines for development of
Ecotourism activities
d. To encourage public-private partnership in the area of Ecotourism
e. To prepare, publish and disseminate literature and promotional materials both for
print and electronic media
f. To coordinate and liaison with national and international bodies, experts, funding
agencies from GOI, State Govt and others
g. To promote training and capacity building for nature guides, professionals,
ecotourism operators, NGOs
h. To facilitate Research and Studies in the area of Ecotourism

## Validity

This Strategic Action will remain in force for five (5) years from the date of its notification. The Karnataka Tourism Policy 2020-25 will supersede any GO/Circular issued earlier, which are in contravention to the provisions of this Policy. The Government of Karnataka may extend the period of this Policy as and when required
