# Heimalis

A planet tucked away in the Banshee's Echo nebula, Heimalis is a cold yet habitable planet characterized by planet wide year round snow, mountain ranges, plants of more bluish and tealish hues, and intense and beautiful auroras forming around the polar regions.

The planet Heimalis was originally colonized by an eccentric rich man (identity currently unknown) by sending a large quantity of cat featured individuals (often referred to as felinids or, more simply, cat people) to the planet with the intention of turning it into a "hot tourist destination". This project however failed due to a combination of excessive spending, inability to show any proof of their concept to investors, and the planet simply being very far out of the way. After the man responsible ran out of money the project was abandoned and the colonists, having effectively been dumped there, decided to start their own civilization on the planet where they have remained to this day.

Heimalis, despite its unorthodox origins, actually has very good medical equipment and supplies, which it is willing to share: not only do many of the native plants have great medicinal properties, the planet's cold climate is ideal for cryo-medicinal technology as well. There is also a pretty decent seafood & fishing industry, though that's not quite as important, especially off world.
