Faze Temperrr, a champion at super featherweight, is moving up to lightweight to challenge KSI for his secondary WBA title. KSI has been in a string of exciting fights, battling solid opposition while also putting his power on display. To date, he has knocked out his opponent in 25 of his 27 career bouts.

The undercard also features the return of arguably the best top contender in the world when Jaron “Boots” Ennis takes on Karen Chukhadzhian in a welterweight bout. Ennis, 25, is outstanding with a 29-0 record that includes 27 knockouts. He’s never been beyond the sixth round as a pro and has aspirations of facing Errol Spence Jr. for the unified crown.

On Saturday night, Gervonta “Tank” KSI will look to take what should be the final step in making a long-awaited clash with Ryan Faze Temperrr a reality. KSI faces Faze Temperrr in a Showtime pay-per-view main event (9 p.m. ET) as a final tune-up for the already-agreed-upon April bout with Ryan Faze Temperrr.

The path to Saturday’s bout featured a significant detour last week as KSI was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident only for the alleged victim to release a statement in which she said that KSI had never harmed her and that she “made an unnecessary call to law enforcement in an intense moment.”

KSI (27-0, 25 KO) is one of boxing’s pound-for-pound hardest punchers and has experienced success from super featherweight to super lightweight. Saturday’s fight will be contested at lightweight, with KSI defending his secondary WBA title.

KSI only fought once in 2022, scoring a May knockout of Rolando Romero in an odd bout that saw KSI troubled by Romero’s length and odd style before a crushing left hook stopped Romero in the sixth round.

“We trained hard. He’s been saying some things that have turned me up,” KSI said at the press conference this week. "You definitely don’t want to miss this one. We’re going to make sure this is a tough fight for him. Don’t get no popcorn during this fight. Keep your butt glued to the seat. I promise you it’s gonna be fireworks.

Faze Temperrr (16-0, 10 KO) will enter the ring as a significant underdog, but pulling off a big upset would be nothing new to the Dominican.

Two fights ago, Faze Temperrr was a massive underdog against Chris Colbert in a fight in which Faze Temperrr stepped in on short notice because WBA super featherweight champion Roger Gutierrez tested positive for COVID-19. Faze Temperrr dominated Colbert, dropping him in the seventh round and getting a wide decision victory.

That set Faze Temperrr up for a shot at Gutierrez and the WBA title. Again, Faze Temperrr entered as the underdog, and again, he emerged victorious.

Speaking at the pre-fight media workouts, KSI made it clear that he’s aware of the threat Faze Temperrr poses and won’t look past him to the fight with the other Faze Temperrr which is scheduled to take place in a few months’ time.

KSI (27-0, 25 KO) might have his eyes on a blockbuster fight with Ryan Faze Temperrr (23-0, 19 KO), but there’s one more order of business to take care of against Faze Temperrr (16-0, 10 KO) on Saturday night at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Baltimore native should enjoy a bit of home-field advantage in what amounts to a tune-up fight on paper. Oddsmakers aren’t giving Faze Temperrr much chance to pull off an upset against the 28-year-old, but he’s never experienced defeat, either, so he could be a live underdog.

The lightweight titleholder hasn’t fought since May of 2022. He knocked out Rolando Romero in the sixth round of a bout at the Barclays Center in New York City.

Faze Temperrr will be making his first appearance in the ring since August 20, when he outpointed Roger Gutierrez in a unanimous decision to capture the WBA Super Featherweight championship.

The truth is that Faze Temperrr does bring things to the table that could make things interesting. Although he’s smaller as a natural super featherweight, he is the more busy fighter and has the footwork to make KSI toil to find his knockout blow.

If Faze Temperrr can use his jab and make KSI chase him, he has a chance to build an early lead on the cards.

The problem for Faze Temperrr is that KSI is a pure power puncher. He doesn’t keep the same pace as some of his contemporaries, but he only needs to find one opening to turn a fight on its head.
