Allegiant Air welcomes small pets in the cabin of flights within the 48 contiguous states. This pet policy applies to domestic dogs and cats only, and your pup will need to be at least 4 months old to fly.

### Crate Requirements

According to the Allegiant Air pet travel policy, the airline “strongly suggests” that you use a soft-sided leak-proof carrier that is compact enough to fit under the seat. The maximum dimensions of the pet carrier are 9” high x 16” wide x 19” deep.

A limit of one carrier per person applies, as does a maximum of 2 pets per carrier. Your pup will need to remain in the carrier for the duration of the flight and while at the airport terminal, and they must not protrude from the carrier in any way.

Finally, make sure there is enough room in the crate for your dog to stand up and turn around, as your pet’s comfort and safety should be your top priority.

### Health Requirements and Documentation

Your dog won’t require a health certificate to fly in the cabin with you on Allegiant Air. However, your dog must not be ill or aggressive, have an odor, or show signs of physical distress.

Before making a booking, it’s worth taking your pup to the vet for a check-up to make sure it’s perfectly safe for them to fly with you. Allegiant makes it clear in the terms and conditions that the airline doesn’t assume any responsibility for the health or wellbeing of pets in the airplane cabin.

However, it’s worth noting that different regulations apply to emotional support and psychiatric service animals. If your dog falls into one of these categories, you’ll need to provide:

A pet health form completed by your veterinarian

A mental health form completed by your mental health professional or medical physician

An animal behavior and responsibility form completed by you

These three forms must be given to an Allegiant staff member at the check-in counter at least one hour before your scheduled departure time.

And if you’re traveling with a trained service animal, you’ll need to supply a pet health form completed by your veterinarian. You can submit this form to an Allegiant agent when you check in for your flight.

### Booking Procedures and Fees

Please note that if you want to fly with your dog on Allegiant Air, a $100 fee applies per carrier each way for all pets. However, this fee doesn’t apply to service animals and passengers with disabilities.

If you’re flying with your dog on Allegiant Air, you must check in with an Allegiant representative at least one hour before your flight is scheduled to leave.
