MEV (Miner Extractable Value) is an emerging area in blockchains which focusses on extraction, elimination or redistribution of profits made through frontrunning, backrunning or sandwiching of transactions in decentralized networks (especially DeFi). It is the equivalent of HFT in TradFi but with different geographical setups and incentives requiring development of novel mechanisms due to the distributed and permissionless nature of blockchains.
Marlin is a leading player in the area with a market cap of over 700m USD. Led by a team of IIT Bombay grads who have been in the industry for over 5 years, it has relationships with leading cryptocurrency exchanges, VCs and projects.
The team is hiring systems/infrastructure engineers who have experience in writing and dealing with large C++ or Rust-based codebases. The role will involve dealing with Ethereum clients (geth), optimizing and modifying it for MEV extraction and creating and propagating MEV transactions (through bots) in the Ethereum mempool with low latency.
Candidates need not have prior blockchain experience. Domain specific knowledge can be learnt on the go. Competitive compensation and perks to be provided. Job location is remote/WFH as of now.
