From profiling the app, we have some figures about the data performance and potential hosting cost.

## Data usage

Login: 850 bytes
Search for user: 1.5kb (1 user in list)
Create Thread (1-to-1): 2.2kb

**1-to-1 chat**
Send message (1 char): 1.75kb
Send message (10 char): 1.75kb
Send message (100 char): 2.0kb

**Group Chat 3 users**
Create Thread (3 user group): 3kb
Send message (1 char): 3.2kb
Send message (10 char): 3.2kb
Send message (100 char): 3.7kb

That means that the data used to send a message is approximately 1kb x number of users in chat

Cost for 100,000 1-to-1 chat room creations: $0.175
Cost for 1 million 100 char 1-to-1 messages: $2

## Performance

The real-time database will support up to **100k concurrent users**. From our experience, 1 concurrent connection is enough to support 10 users per minute. That means that at peak capacity, the Chat SDK could support **1 million users per minute** and well over **20 million monthly users**.
