Today you have an appointment with the veterinarian and you need to take your dog to the pet hospital for vaccination. But you don’t have a private car to take him so far away, so you decide to take public transportation. You are good at using travel apps, but this is the first time you have brought a dog together. Fearing that some regulations may prevent you from arriving on time, you decide to see if Petmapper can help. **Observations:** - When filling in the pet information in the first section, ZHOU can clearly understand the meaning of these parts. But she doesn't have a dog in real life, so she is a little confused about the "Medical use". After explanation, she understood it. - In the second section, which is our main funtion, she said it is well designed in terms of structure and content. But the navigation arrow is a little conspicuous and awkward, we can change into another size or form. - When it comes to community and shop, she said these parts are useful and they are clear for now. But we need to focus on some details like the picture corner and arrow position. - It would be better if the returned arrow could bring users to the previous page according to the actual operation instead of a fixed page. --- **2nd instruction:** (this is your second scenario): You are a student and your friend is going on a trip and wants you to take care of his Corgi. Today you are going to his home to bring the dog and some pet supplies. But you have never brought a pet on public transportation, so you are a little worried about whether you will cause unnecessary losses due to violation of regulations, so you decide to look at petmapper. **Observations:** - The first section is clear as mentioned. The only thing for the user is to collect everything about her dog, but sometime it can be tough But sometimes it is tough to figure out the dog that you just took over. - The second part is clear as well. It looks like many popular travel app. Seems to be professional. - The community is good. Some buttons are not available for now but no big deal. She can understand what does it mean. - The shop is very needed for this experience. As a new pet owner, it is quite important to see where to get accessories for pets. ## Qualitative testing **Positive feedback:** - The main part is very clear, and the function and content are very complete. - The community and the shop are pretty useful. - The picture design is exquisite, and the color matching is coordinated. --- **Neutral feedback:** - The function of the return button needs to be improved. --- **Negative feedback:** - Need to pay attention to some details such as the size and the location of the arrow, and the angular shape of the picture, etc. --- **Learning & insights:** From that, we've learn that page design needs to capture many details to improve the user experience. --- **Decisions & actions:** To iterate, we will make another shape of the navigation arrow, adjust the position of the arrow, and change the picture into rounded corners. ::: :::warning ## Testcard ## Pre-testing **Name:** Yince Ma **Age:** 23 **Occupation:** Student **Context of the meeting (where, with who, etc.):** China, through TIM **Duration of the meeting:** 30 mins ## User scenarios testing **1st instruction** (this is your first scenario): You are a pet owner and you have a labrador. You are really far from home you therefore decide to take public transportation. **Observations:** - Romain could find the price of the taxis but he couldn’t find the price of the subway and the bus he need to take and he doesn’t have any travel pass. ## Qualitative testing **Positive feedback:** - The graphism is really great - The app is intuitive - There is a multitude of animal’s breeds on the form at the beginning --- **Neutral feedback:** - Different type of transport are proposed by the app which is good --- **Negative feedback:** - The part about whether the animal is sterilized or not on the form at the beginning do not seems essential - There are no price details about each public transportation --- **Learning & insights:** From that, we’ve learn that the application seems intuitive even for a 45 years old man who do not use technology how much as we, students, do. --- **Decisions & actions:** To iterate, we will add some prices about transportation and we will delete the section about sterelization. :::
