**Job Title: Air/Hydronic Balancing Apprentice**
Balco Solutions, based in Saskatoon, SK, is seeking a motivated Air/Hydronic Balancing Apprentice to join our small but growing team. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training, provided tools, and paid safety certifications (e.g., SCOT, Fall Arrest, WHMIS). This role provides hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and airflow/hydronic balancing across a variety of projects in Saskatchewan.
We are specifically looking for someone interested in building a long-term career with our company. For the right candidate, this position is not just a job, but the first step toward a stable and rewarding future in a highly specialized trade, with opportunities for advancement and professional certification in the years ahead.
**An ideal candidate will:**
* Be comfortable working on ladders, in lifts, at heights, and in fast-paced construction environments alongside other trades, representing Balco in a professional manner.
* Be willing to work variable hours as needed (primarily daytime work, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or nights).
* Be available for out-of-town assignments (sometimes extended, but no weekends away).
* Be comfortable working year-round in Saskatchewan weather, with a mix of indoor and outdoor work.
* Bring existing skills or aptitude in mechanical and/or electrical work — this is the strongest asset for success in the role. No prior balancing experience is required, but curiosity and hands-on aptitude (e.g., working on vehicles, home projects) are strong foundations for training.
* Be able to handle basic computer/tablet-based tasks (mainly Microsoft Office for basic data entry and reporting).
* Show reliability, attention to detail, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to keep clear notes that support reporting and coordination with other trades.
* Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
* Be motivated to build a long-term career and grow with the company.
**Compensation & Work Conditions**
* Starting wage would be based on experience: $21.00 or more per hour, with wage increases and benefits available after a three-month probationary period.
* Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday daytime hours, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or nights as required by project schedules.
* Travel: Out-of-town work is a regular part of the job (sometimes extended, but no weekends away).
* Training & tools: All required tools, equipment, and safety certifications (e.g., SCOT, Fall Arrest, WHMIS) are provided at no cost to the apprentice.
* Work environment: A mix of indoor and outdoor work, year-round, in fast-paced construction settings alongside other trades.
* Advancement: With experience and certification, apprentices can expect significant opportunities for wage growth and advancement within the company.
