At the broadest level, we are proposing to create a Discord and Forum for the Polkadot Technical Working Group (intentionally boring and 'unbranded'). This will be a community-led group working on standards, specifications, implementations, guidelines or general initiatives in regards to the Polkadot/Substrate framework. The reasoning for making this broader than just DeFi is the understanding the projects and people outside of DeFi will want to contribute. This type of group kind of already exists on Element with a few chats for xcm, crowdloans, and standards, but since it's on Element it's disorganized and less useful than it will be on Discord.
**Forum**: The forum can be on [forum.polkadot.network](http://forum.polkadot.network) if you guys agree (here is a test post with a DeFi tag in the Research topic - [https://forum.polkadot.network/c/research/19](https://forum.polkadot.network/c/research/19)). Purposely keeping the name just as "Research" to keep Polkadot separate from this community-led working group, but we can probably create a sub-category. TBD but leveraging the existing forum should be a smooth transition.

**Discord**: Picture below shows the potential setup. We can bring the existing element chats into Discord, and create subcategories for things like DeFi. This also leaves room for more subgroups to pop up in the future, maybe identity, bridges, etc.

**Events**: The events can be one-off unbranded events that are in essence 'hosted' by the PTWG teams. The first one planned for Feb 25th is the PolkaDeFi demo day.
**Website**: The website can be hosted at [polkadefi.com](http://polkadefi.com) and be a minimal list of the projects who fit the criteria. The website would have links to the research topic on the forum, and the PTWG Discord. It would also include the criteria and a button to join the working group.
**Criteria**:
- live working demo of the core functionality of your project
- link to a demo
- link to github
- majority approval from representatives of existing projects
Let us know if you like it, what you'd change (if anything), and questions.
