_Science of the Total Environment_ is an international multi-disciplinary natural science journal for publication of novel, hypothesis-driven and high-impact research on the **total environment**, which interfaces the **atmosphere**, **lithosphere**, **hydrosphere**, **biosphere**, and **anthroposphere**.
_STOTEN_'s Aims & Scope has been updated - we invite contributions of original and high quality interdisciplinary environmental research papers of broad impact. Studies significantly advancing fundamental understanding and that focus on the interconnection of multiple spheres will be given primary consideration. Field studies have preference, while papers describing laboratory experiments must demonstrate significant advances in methodology or mechanistic understanding with a clear connection to the environment. Descriptive, repetitive, incremental or regional-scale studies with limited novelty will not be considered.
**Subject areas may include, but are not limited to:**
- Air quality, atmospheric conditions, and new understanding of their role in adverse health or environmental outcomes
- Atmospheric biogeochemistry
- Ecosystem services and life cycle assessment
- Ecotoxicology and risk assessment
- Eco-hydrology
- Wildlife and contaminants
- Environmental impacts of climate change, agriculture, forestry, and land uses
- Environmental impacts of waste or wastewater treatment
- Drinking water contaminants and health implications
- Environmental remediation of soil and groundwater
- Global change-induced extreme events and environmental impacts
- Groundwater hydrogeochemistry and modeling
- Nanomaterials, microplastics, and other emerging contaminants

![[Pasted image 20250320184828.png]]
An International Journal of Landscape Science, Planning and Design
_Landscape and Urban Planning_ is an international journal aimed at advancing conceptual, scientific, and applied understandings of **landscape** in order to promote **sustainable** solutions for **landscape change**. Landscapes are visible and integrative social-ecological systems with variable spatial and temporal dimensions. They have expressive aesthetic, natural, and cultural qualities that are perceived and valued by people in multiple ways and invite actions resulting in landscape change. Landscapes are increasingly urban in nature and ecologically and culturally sensitive to changes at local through global scales. Multiple disciplines and perspectives are required to understand landscapes and align social and ecological values to ensure the sustainability of landscapes. The journal is based on the premise that landscape science linked to **planning** and **design** can provide mutually supportive outcomes for people and nature.
_Landscape science_ brings **landscape ecology** and **urban ecology** together with other disciplines and cross-disciplinary fields to identify patterns and understand social-ecological processes influencing landscape change. _Landscape planning_ brings landscape architecture, urban and regional planning, landscape and ecological engineering, and other practice-oriented fields to bear in processes for identifying problems and analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating desirable alternatives for landscape change. _Landscape design_ brings plans, designs, management prescriptions, policies and other activities and form-giving products to bear in effecting landscape change. The implementation of landscape planning and design also generates new patterns of evidence and hypotheses for further research, providing an integral link with landscape science and encouraging transdisciplinary collaborations to build robust knowledge and problem solving capacity.
#### Filosofía de publicación

#### Review articles
**2.3. Review Articles**
Review Articles examine a coherent and comprehensive set of published research studies or other works (e.g., policies, reports, case studies) covering a subject area of current or emerging interest. They can take one of two forms: (1) Narrative Reviews identify, synthesize, and/or offer critical assessments of the state-of-the-art in knowledge about a subject, highlighting important concepts, variables, and theories under study, problems and knowledge gaps yet to be addressed, and guidance for future research. (2) Analytical Reviews involve systematic assessments of the literature, often using bibliographic database search and retrieval systems such as Scopus or Web of Science, alone or in combination with full-text searching, mining, and analysis software. These include Systematic Reviews and meta-analyses that follow a standardized format aimed at building a base of knowledge for evidence-based design (e.g., http://www.environmentalevidence.org/EBConservation.htm). They also include quantitative, bibliometric techniques such as citation analysis and qualitative analyses of content themes aimed at identifying the structure of and trends in knowledge about an area of inquiry. Review Articles are typically between 6000 and 10,000 words in length, including references and tables. Please include an abstract (250 words or less), keywords (3-6), and research highlights (3-5), and follow APA 6th Edition guidelines (Section 6.26) for referencing documents included in your analysis.Review Articles need to explicitly indicate the originality and need for the review, cover a wide and international range of literature and provide a brief assessment of previously published reviews related to the topic.

#### Ámbito
### Filosofía de publicación
#### Aims and scope
Environmental Evidence publishes objective scientific evidence to inform policy and practice by publishing evidence syntheses (including meta-analyses) relevant to environmental management. The journal is managed by the [Collaboration for Environmental Evidence (CEE)](http://www.environmentalevidence.org/) and facilitates rapid publication of rigorous evidence syntheses, in the form of **Systematic Reviews**, **Rapid Reviews** and **Systematic Maps**, conducted to [CEE Guidelines and Standards](http://www.environmentalevidence.org/information-for-authors).
Our scope covers the realm of environmental science and management broadly recognizing the interdisciplinary nature of the field which spans the natural and social sciences and extends from identifying environmental threats and problems, evaluating environmental interventions, assessing human impacts on the environment, to generating and testing environmental solutions.
Subjects include but are not limited to climate change, natural resource management, forestry, fisheries, biodiversity conservation, invasive species, ecosystem services, environmental impacts on human wellbeing, sustainable energy, water security, agriculture, soil management, food security, sustainable food production and consumption, One Health, waste and wastewater management, pollution, clean growth, ecotoxicology, environmental justice, environmental governance, environmental legislation and environmental education. We recognize that traditional evidence synthesis and decision making has excluded Indigenous knowledge systems and other ways of knowing and welcome contributions that explore approaches for doing such work in a more inclusive manner.
Despite the large and rapidly increasing amounts of primary environmental research, the potential of the data to address questions of concern to policy makers and managers has not been fully realised. This journal and CEE promotes and facilitates the conduct and use of evidence syntheses and seeks to make evidence more accessible to all through open access publishing of papers on all aspects of environmental science and management. To this end we also publish the following paper types.
Objective use of scientific evidence to inform policy or practice is a major aim and to that end the Journal also publishes **methodology papers** and encourages submissions that promise advances in the field of evidence synthesis, including methodological contributions to advance co-design processes used in syntheses, communication of findings or evidence uptake. We also welcome empirical natural or social science studies that analyse various aspects of evidence generation and use.
Discussion of wider issues surrounding the production and communication of evidence syntheses are welcome in the form of **commentary articles**.
**Evidence in Action** articles should involve a discussion on the impact of evidence-based practice on environmental managers, of evidence synthesis on policy making, or a discussion of developments at the science-policy interface.
Proposals for Special Series of papers on a specific theme are welcomed and you should contact the Editor-in-Chief at an early stage.

(JCR, SJR, CiteScore).

- Article title Article titles should be concise and informative. Please avoid abbreviations and formulae, where possible, unless they are established and widely understood, e.g., DNA).
- Author name(s) Provide the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author. The order of authors should match the order in the submission system. Carefully check that all names are accurately spelled. If needed, you can add your name between parentheses in your own script after the English transliteration.
Not all CRediT roles will apply to every manuscript and some authors may contribute through multiple roles. We advise you to read [more about CRediT and view an example of a CRediT author statement](https://www.elsevier.com/researcher/author/policies-and-guidelines/credit-author-statement).
- Affiliation(s) Add affiliation addresses, referring to where the work was carried out, below the author names. Indicate affiliations using a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the corresponding address. Ensure that you provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and, if available, the email address of each author.
No viene especificado en la guía pero en esta title page también pondría la información de la financiación: If no funding has been provided for the research, it is recommended to include the following sentence:
_This research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors._
- Acknowledgements Include any individuals who provided you with help during your research, such as help with language, writing or proof reading, in the acknowledgements section. Include acknowledgements **only** in the **title page** since this journal follows a double anonymized peer review process. Do not add it as a footnote to your title.
- Declaration of Interest statement
- Corresponding author address (full address is required) Add affiliation addresses, referring to where the work was carried out, below the author names. Indicate affiliations using a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the corresponding address. Ensure that you provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and, if available, the email address of each author. If an author has moved since the work described in your article was carried out, or the author was visiting during that time, a "present address" (or "permanent address") can be indicated by a footnote to the author's name. The address where the author carried out the work must be retained as their main affiliation address. Use superscript Arabic numerals for such footnotes.
- Corresponding author email address
## Cuerpo del manuscrito
Debe incluir
- References
- Figures
- Tables

We encourage you to view example [article highlights](https://www.elsevier.com/researcher/author/tools-and-resources/highlights) and read about the benefits of their inclusion.
### Datos de la investigación.
You are **required** to:
- Deposit your research data in a relevant data repository.
- Cite and link to this dataset in your article.
- If this is not possible, make a statement explaining why research data cannot be shared.

'The authors declare no conflict of interest.'
David Prieto-Gonzalez reports a relationship with Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia that includes: consulting or advisory. If there are other authors, they declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper.

He escogido Barcelona aunque estoy sopesando también Madrid.

[[Silva - Assessing the influence of urban geometry on noise propagation by using the sky view factor 2018]]:
Urban noise is mostly related to transportation, particularly with road traffic, which is recognized as the major source of noise in urban areas due to engines and tyre-pavement friction (Zuo et al. 2014; Silva and Mendes 2012; Cai et al. 2015).

También en Silva en las conclusiones
"Two main conclusions could be drawn from this study. First, the study showed that there is a direct correlation between the traffic volume and the noise recorded. This conclusion is therefore in line with several studies showing that traffic is a major source of urban noise (Pathak, Tripathi, and Mishra 2008; Salomons and Pont 2012; Zuo et al. 2014; Cai et al. 2015; Carrier, Apparicio, and Seguin 2016). The study also demonstrated that the noise level is directly proportional to the traffic volume, as other studies show (Seto, Holt, and Bhatia 2007)." (Silva et al., 2018, p. 14)
:::
:::info
:::
