# Link Preview

### What is 【Link Preview】?

When you paste a link in the editor, a link style menu will pop up at the cursor position, providing you with a preview of your customized link.

### Choose a style

You can select the style using **the keyboard or mouse**, and the default will be displayed as the original URL.


# Format of link preview

We offer three styles for you to choose according to your needs.

### 1. URL

Presented as the original URL.


### 2. Reference

Automatically change the URL to `[Link Text](URL)` format.


### 3. Preview card

The system will automatically grab the meta data of the URL and present it on the preview card. If the link source is a HackMD suggest edit, comment, or paragraph link, then the system can grab the note description and title.


#### Below are some examples of preview cards.

- External Link
- Paragraph Copy Link
- Edit History Link
- Unauthorized Access Links
- Comment Link
