# Guided comment

Today, the creation of notes is not just a one-way transmission of information but also an interactive dialogue.

We are pleased to introduce the Guide Comment feature to HackMD users officially :tada:

Now, you can actively guide and invite readers to provide feedback on articles, offering a space that breaks out of the note content to ask readers questions.

# Enable guide comment

Build a guide comment through note setting

1. Open the note setting window
2. In 【Engagement control】> Enable 【Show guided comment】


# Edit guide comment

### Create a guide comment
1. In 【Engagement control】, click [Create a guided comment] to share more information with your readers, ask for feedback, or interact with them in any way you like!

When editing a guided comment, the guided comments and options are immediately previewed on the right side, and any changes you make in the settings are instantly synchronized to the created guided comment.


2. If you have guided comments enabled, but have not yet created a guided comment, you can do so directly from the note view page.

Please click the [+] on your avatar at the bottom of the note. :point_down:


### Set default options

Set some options in advance that the readers interact with you more easily.

You can set up to four options.

>When editing guided comment and options, use the `Tab` and `Enter` keys on the keyboard to edit and set them.

### Emoji

You can change the Emoji icon of the guided comment as many times as you want.


### Permission

Guided comments have the same permissions as comments.
- If you enable [Everyone/Signed-in users/Owners] to leave a comment: only the corresponding character can see the guided comment and respond to it.
- If you disable the note's comments (forbidden) permission: guided comments will be disabled.

### View guided comment？

At the bottom of the article you can click on the Emoji next to the author's avatar or hover over the Emoji and a guided comment will appear.

### Guided comment default options

Click on any of the author's default options and we'll help you apply them directly to the comment, then edit the text!

>Once the right panel of the note is open, use the <kbd>Cmd / Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>Enter</kbd> keys on the keyboard to leave a comment without taking your hands off the keyboard.
