# EPF Week 1 Update (NC Navie Chan) ## General I come from a software/CS background and has minimum exposure to blockchain development. Heard about the fellowship program a week prior, joined the office hour call and decided to hop in. Since I am employed full time, I plan to dedicate most of myweekday night and weekend on this. ## Goal - Refresh knowledge on Ethereum - Have general understanding of each project on proejct list - Research more on projects that I feel interested (ie. Background, current state of development etc.) ## Refresh knowledge on Ethereum My understanding of Ethereum hasn't been updated since I left school, there has been a lot of changes and I want to relearn the whole thing from ground up. Cohort repo has an excellenet reading list. I read most of them + documentations from ethereum.org + random articles I googled. Here are some that I find particularly useful: - https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/nodes-and-clients/ - https://www.coindesk.com/learn/ethereum-nodes-and-clients-a-complete-guide/ - https://takenobu-hs.github.io/downloads/ethereum_evm_illustrated.pdf - https://blog.ethereum.org/2015/11/15/merkling-in-ethereum ## Project research After getting a grasp of every project on the [list](https://github.com/eth-protocol-fellows/cohort-three/blob/master/projects/project-ideas.md), I have narrowed it down to 2 projects that I am interested in: - Light Client - CL Reward API Will dive deeper on these two topics before deciding which one to work on next week ## Next Week - Will reach out to mentors from Light Client and CL Reward API to know more about the current progress of development - Reach out to peers who are in the cohort with similar interest in these two projects - Decide which of the two projects to work on
