#### Purpose and Mandate

The CSC’s primary purpose is to provide expert advice, insights, and guidance on matters related to the organization’s strategic direction, policies, programs, and overall performance, from the perspective of CWHC stakeholders. The CSC plays a critical role in promoting transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration within the organization’s governance model.

#### Composition

The CSC is composed of representatives from various stakeholder groups, including but not limited to university deans, funding agencies, and CWHC collaborators and partners. Membership to the CSC may be proposed by current members, CWHC leadership, or stakeholder organizations. The composition ensures a diverse range of perspectives, expertise, and insights are available to contribute to the discussions and decisions of the council.

- **Resource**: Provide expert advice, insights, and knowledge to the CEO and the organization, contributing to informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- **Advocate**: Promote awareness of the CWHC’s mission, goals, and initiatives within their respective networks and communities, advocating for its importance in wildlife health.
- **Barometer**: Identify and analyze trends, challenges, and opportunities in the wildlife health landscape, offering a broader perspective to the CWHC.
- **Connector and Bridge**: Facilitate connections and collaboration between the CWHC and various stakeholders, fostering partnerships and enhancing the organization’s impact.
