# Transport
Snow Mobiles
---
- Snow Mobiles are refueled using a jerry can with welding fuel.
- A jerry can can also siphon fuel from a Snow Mobile
- Snow Mobiles have tank controls like a submarine
- You can use a straw to drink the juice out of them
Skiis
---
- Use them in hand to place them, click drag your sprite onto them (like buckling into a chair or bed) to board.
# Jobs
The available jobs are different to regular Goon:
- All medical positions have been consolidated into "Medical technician"
- Cargo and mining have been consolidated into "Supply technician"
- Kitchen jobs have been changed to "Caterer"
Notably, cyborg slots are available at roundstart but with reduced starter modules to choose from (only civ and mining).
# Persistence
The map in its entirety will go through a few passes with the 35 below internal team to clean up and build up parts of the map, using user-created structures as a guide.
Items that were held in persistent caches are very likely* to be saved.
Some items will be restocked with the mapping passes.
Mined mountain turfs should stay mined.
You may, at a future point, request to have your character spawned in a different location.
This is not final as this system is being tested for the first time and is subject to change.
# Unique Tools
**Survival Axe**
Found in wall-mounted cases on the ship. Click with harm intent to smash the glass and retrieve the axe. Used to fell trees and split logs.
**Shovel**
Found on the ship. Used to dig holes, or clear out snowfall from events.
Powered Pickaxes can also be used to dig snow the same way, powered or otherwise.
**Ice Pick**
Found on the ship. Used to break rocks.
# Resources
**Wood logs**
Obtained through felling trees with an axe, then clicking on them with either an empty hand or another log once they've fallen. Can be stacked up to 9 logs.
**Metals**
Same as on regular goon asteroid-type mining, including the geodes.
# Construction
**Wooden Planks**
Can be created through clicking on logs with a splitting tool such as the axe. These can be used for constructing floors, walls, and some furniture, but not roof tiles.
**Roofing**
Created through the use-in-hand construction menu, requiring metal sheets. Protection from the elements, but prevents the escape of smoke from fires. To remove a roof tile, use wirecutters on the floor beneath it. You can use the top-left "look up" button to view if there is a roof above you or not.
**Holes**
Holes can be dug in the ground/snow with shovels. Items can be placed in the hole and then re-covered. Campfires can be placed in holes, preventing people from being pushed into them by help-intent tile swapping.
# Heat
**Insulating Clothing**
Everyone spawns with a box that includes a jacket, boots, gloves, flare, and two hand-warmers which can be placed in a slot inside of the gloves after being activated in-hand. The jacket can be repaired with a nanoloom, as it takes damage from exposure. Also contains a guide on how to survive the cold.
**Campfire**
Made from 6 logs used in hand. Can be lit with a source of flame, or with an empty hand through a slow action bar which has a chance to fail. Will burn until it runs out of fuel, which can be restocked with logs. Produces smoke in roofed spaces that quickly becomes unbreathable. Can be destroyed through sufficient force.
**Radiators**
Requires power to use, will heat the room to a target temperature which can be adjusted with a wrench. (Doesn't seem to have any visible sign if it is powered or not, or if it is working or not that I could tell? I built it in a room that wasn't powered and it still lit up green, and later when the power was working in the room I was still shivering next to it. Not really sure how these work.)
**Warm hands**
Status effect gained by either clicking on a campfire whilst it's lit, or using a hand-warmer and placing it inside of your gloves. Gives resistance to hypothermia.
**Hypothermia Multiplier**
Status effect which tells you if you're vulnerable to the cold or not, shown by a green upwards arrow, just a person or a red downwards arrow. The more thirst / hunger you have, the easier you may gain hypothermia. Seems to also make it harder to recover from hypothermia.
# Wildlife
**Jackalope**
"A rabbit-like creature with two elongated antlers. Skittish and harmless, this animal has been rumored to exist for centuries."
Sort of a passive rabbit-type thing, bites you if you try to pick it up but only sometimes. Can be pet with left click.
**Crater Goat**
"A four-legged, mostly harmless type of goat. Known to frequently lick claretine deposits for sodium intake."
Neutral, functioning similarly to the Rattlesnakes from goonstation. They do not attack unless approached, and don't actively hunt people down, they "barrel" them down instead, knocking them a few tiles away and causing minor brute damage. Becomes hostile when attacked.
**Wolf**
"A species of alien wolves with thicker than usual fur and an unquenchable bloodlust."
As the description suggests, hostile. Attacks people when approached and follows them if they run. Has the ability to pounce on somebody, doing minor brute damage and short stun. Otherwise, they just bite, causing minor bleed and brute damage. Seemingly roam in packs.
**Seal**
"This species seems to be well adapted to survive in regions that don't have access to large bodies of liquid water."
There are two types of these, adults and babies. The babies are friendly, and the adults are neutral unless you mess with their babies or with them.
*Llama*
//If anybody knows anything about em, please fill this area in!
# Weather Events
Weather announcements are given through the "X4-6A Meteorological Alert System" when the event begins. (And a minute or so prior when it is properly set up?)
**Clear skies**
"All clear given for the occupied regions of Banshee Pit and surrounds. Organic personnel are advised to watch for any sudden changes to present weather conditions."
**Light Snow**
"Light snowfall in the occupied regions of Thundrando and surrounds is expected within 58.3 seconds. Organic personnel are recommended to wear appropriate gear and carry outdoor survival equipment."
"Light snowfall has struck the occupied regions of Banshee Pit and surrounds."
**Blizzard**
"A snowstorm of intermediate intensity has struck the occupied regions of Banshee Pit and surrounds. Shelter in place immediately.
**End-Round Blizzard?**
"A blizzard of significant intensity has struck the occupied regions of Thundrando and surrounds. Shelter in place immediately. You will not survive without adequate shelter and supplies."
This announcement heralds that the end of the round is upcoming.
**Structural Failure**
"Structural failures have occured in the constructed habitats of Banshee Pit causing breaches. All breaches should be cleared and repaired as soon as possible to maintain a habitable environment."
Some player-built roofs will collapse, dumping snow on the tile beneath. This can be cleared with a shovel, but the roof tile will need to be replaced. This doesn't appear to have any direct correlation to the 'structural integrity' of the structure itself, i.e making pillars won't cause it to not happen, as it seemed to happen even directly next to walls.
**Meteorological Sensor Failure**
"Critical electrical errors have occured in Thundrando's meteorological equipment. They must be promptly repaired to restore regular functions."
# Structures
**The station/ship**
Where everyone begins, and the source of power. Runs off a nuclear reactor.
**Mountains**
Where you'll find your ores and geodes. Reports from Miners have indicated that the mountains on this planet are **much** more radioactive and explosive than the asteroids found with an asteroid magnet. They're also generally surrounded by ice or cause water puddles to form from the heat of mining, so take care not to sprint away from a volatile rock unless you ***know*** your path is clear. Wait for residual explosions to subside (generally within 5-8 seconds of the latest blast) before venturing back in to resume mining.
**Caves**
Caves are seemingly scattered in various portions of the mountains. One of these had a skeleton inside, as well as notes scattered across the floor hinting as to a location to dig.
*Need more info on these caves.*
# Puzzles
There were various audio puzzles.
## UKPK1 CQD
The signal was a 50 baud teletype transmitted in the MTK-2 / KOI-7 text encoding. This mode and encoding are typical of the real Soviet Union.
When the message is recieved by an English teletype machine set to 50 baud, it is decoded like this:
```
WOQ 1 18/11 1723
SRO:NAQ MSG
RAZBILSQ NA PLANETE. NEWOZMOVNO WYJTI NA ORBITU.
FAUNA WRAGI. NAVA POZICIQ 40.714 S 006 Z
II
CQD CQD CQD CQD
UNW UNW DE UKPK1 UK
SR NOWYJ-MIR /291 1 18/11 1723
SRO:NAQ MSG
RALSQ NA PLANETE. NEWOZMOVNO WYJTI NA ORBITU.
FAUNA WRAGI. NAVA POZICIQ 40.714 S 74.006 Z
I I
CQD CQD CQD CQD
UNW UNW DE UKPK1 UKYJ-.84 /291 1 18/11 1723
SRO:NAQ MSG
RAZBILSQE. NEWOZMOVNO WYJTI NA ORBITU.
FAUNA WRAGI. NAVA POZICIQ 40.714 S 74.006 Z
I I
```
Cyrillic glyphs in KOI-7 align with their cognates in the Latin alphabet. For example, "И" sounds like the Latin letter "I", so it replaces it in KOI-7 compared to Standard Baudot.
When decoded properly in KOI-7, the message is:
> CQD CQD CQD CQD
> УНВ УНВ DE УКПК1 УК
> ср новый-мир /291 1 18/11 1723
> срочная мсг
> раблся на планете. невозможно выйти на орбиту.
> фауна враги. нажа позиция 40.714 с 74.006 з
This message is a common Soviet Naval format which includes the source, sequence number, amount of messages and date of transmission.
Translating the radio jargon and the Russian to English, the message is:
> All Stations, This is a Distress Call.
> My name is УКПК1 I'm trying to reach УНВ
> Source: "Noviy Mir" Block #291 with 1 message.
> From the 18th day of November at 17:23
> URGENT MESSAGE
> Crashed on planet. We cannot get back into orbit.
> Fauna is hostile. Our position is 40.714 South, 74.006 West
The message repeats, over and over.
## NS1NT957
The signal was bursts of 300-baud [Bell 103](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_103) teletype signal. As the ship approached the light-speed object, the signal distorts until it completely degrades and is lost after impact.
