# Marketplace
This is the idea with the most potential for Tezos. Next steps:
1. Research where people have failed in building decentralized marketplaces.
2. Figure out how to make the problem *simpler* so that it doesn’t hit those points of failure. HINT: Don’t make it _completely_ decentralized, this might make it easier (check how)
3. Make a MVP or a prototype (need to find a developer)
4. Apply for funding

Meeting notes for 13/12/2021:
About centralization
- Moderation: handle moderation as a service and charge a fee, rather than try to reward volunteers for moderating automatically through a DAO (which would be complicated to solve up-front)
- Verification: handle this through government ID or other authorities--with the option to use a better option when it's available. Doesn't need to be fully self-soverign to start out. (Does this raise privacy issues?)
- Centralization at first (fees + organization) later automating some parts as we understand how best to do things
- extra questions: privacy, side-chains,

Other approaches:
- focus on improving other aspects of a marketplace, such that our use case makes sense
- find a market that dovetails into our idea later
- figure out the first step that would make sense to take if you wanted to get a *lot* of people onbored
