# Area Estimation

### Gate Count
- 意旨邏輯閘數量
- 可以透過 total cell area 去粗略地估算電路的 gate count
- 為了簡便計算，一般使用 2 輸入的 Nand gate 且驅動力 1 倍的面積作等校參考
- 公式: gate count = total cell area / nand area

以 TSMC90GUTM 為例， nand area = 2.52 * 1.12 ~= 2.8
把 total cell 除以 2.8 即為 gate count

### Area estimation

- 1 bit DFF, 1bit adder, 2to1 MUX:
約為 7 個 gate counts
- n bit Multiplier:
約為 n平方 * 7 個 gate counts
