# References on Krakatau
## From Scopus: keyword "Krakatau" intitle

- van der burg (1883) is the oldest ref. it's not downloadble, possibly available in printed version only

## From [Dimensions](app.dimensions.ai) database: keyword "krakatau"
I found 9000+ docs.

There are some old refs:
- 1870 (1 doc) --> [link to pdf](https://app.dimensions.ai/discover/publication?search_mode=content&search_text=krakatau&search_type=kws&search_field=full_search&and_facet_year=1870)
- 1883 (3 docs) --> [link to docs](https://app.dimensions.ai/discover/publication?search_mode=content&search_text=krakatau&search_type=kws&search_field=full_search&and_facet_year=1883). out of 3 docs, 2 docs are downloadble.

- van der burg (1883) can't be downloaded as well
It's interesting when a doc can't be downloaded (in pdf format) from a paid database (eg: scopus), but maight be available from a free database (eg: dimensions).
So old references are findable but depends on which database to use, and it doesn't have to be a paid database.
Historical studies dated back to early 1800's or 1900's are doable. This should be good for indonesian researchers to dig deeper into history to solve current engineering/social problems.
