# v8-Rho Upgrade Testing

## Summary

Upgrade tests have been performed within two categories: fresh and stateful genesis.

The fresh genesis only contains one account and one validator.
The stateful genesis is an exported mainnet state from Jan 6,2023 that has been adjusted to provide one validator with majority voting power.

- 2023-01-17
The v8.0.0-rc3 release passed both fresh and stateful genesis tests (F7 and S18).

- 2023-01-16
The v8.0.0-rc2 release passed both fresh and stateful genesis tests (F6, S16, and S17).

- 2023-01-13
The commit `d9de8ca30f511d6acda079da5b2782994814d08f` from the cosmos/gaia repo is currently passing both fresh and stateful genesis tests.
