# Gnosis Builders Meeting Follow-up

Last week we had a conversation with Gnosis Builders

**Postmortem Overview**

We submitted [a proposal](https://hackmd.io/kVo5VFvcRk-5wB4Ob8gzuw?view) to Gnosis DAO - goes through several phases.
Phase 1 - forum phase, open feedback. We had a chat going with Dosh & he hooked us up with Gnosis builders & some of Zodiac folks in chat (gnosis Builders didn't chime in)
Phase 2 - final negotiations/revisions.
Phase 3 - Snapshot vote

Didn't have any feedback in forums, Auryn & 1 or 2 others saying they liked DAOhaus.

Went to snapshot, good turnout of little fish but no whales.

Gnosis builders says - your proposal will fail because you don't have quorum. You'll need some whales to support.

They said: It seemed out of order - why'd it go up to a DAO grant when you already have a token launched, you're monetizing & it doesn't make sense to be a grant proposal.

Fact that none of the whales voted means either they weren't comfortable enough, or weren't aware, or were indifferent and didn't care enough about it.

Miscommunication about what DAOhaus is. Is it a public good for community or is it a private company that has shares?

**Stefan** said there was some confusion about communication around Zodiac modules and stuff. Was that issues internally on their end?

**Rossetti** of Nouns said they wanted to put something together for DAOhaus

Gnosis Builders is a newer emerging group that is responsibile for distributing investments & grants without Gnosis DAO.

Conversation w/**Shawn** was more focused on how we can refine the proposal and create **more clear deliverables & milestones** from the proposal. Be a little bit more descriptive on how we are looking to actually do what we say we're doing.
- Upgrading v2 to v3
- Onboarding ecosystem devs & devrel
- More granular level of how we intend to go about that on Gnosis Chain

What is our goal or objective about doing these things?
- We said 100 new v3 DAOs summoned by Q2 DAOs
- get more specific (onboard X people into gnosis ecosystem)

**Looking to push projects** that decentralize Gnosis chain further
- Push to set up a DAO that could run its own validators
- Similar to Peerion

**Gnosis Priority**
We currently have Gnosis in a privileged position with our recommendaitons.
- low transaction fees
- most validators

**Alternatives**
- Celo (egalitarian mission)
- Polygon (larger user base, more money, less decentralization)
- Optimism

**Public Good**
- the tools are there
- could be supported by community volunteers
- Better to have staff flywheel it

**Another Thing**
- The question: Why did DAOhaus fail?
- For us it's like DAOhaus is just getting started.
- We're building on it, making it more easy to get used.
- Valid question: Why aren't people using it more, why isn't it bigger?
- Most active communities exist on DAOhaus platform.

**Kind of like a business**
- That just consumes grants
- Consensys built private blockchains to iterate and build on their tools
- metanote: Shouldn't get disheartened by Gnosis thing

**History**
- Spencer & Dekan met with these guys at EthDenver when they were Binance
- We were doing our CCO raise
- Just formulated Public Goods narrative
- We discussed different ideas to monetize the protocol
- Could exist in future version, but not monetizing for investors

**Tiered grants w/smaller grants?**
- Use smart invoice
- Make milestones exit ramps
- Multiple Milestone payments made in Escrow

**Valid alternative**
- Take in donations

**Initiatives**
- Developer Onboarding
- Work Sessions
- Grant givers say they "want new governance"

**Other Options**
Radicle, Optimism, Polygon, Celo
- Boiler has more

They asked some questions:

**Q:** What is the business model of DAOhaus?
**A:**

**Q:** If you have DAOhaus Labs generating value, how would the protocol be supported?
**A:**

**Q:** How to get to sustainability?
**A:**

**Q:** If give $300k grant now, then what happens in 3-4 months?
**A:**

**Q:** If DAOhaus has already raised funds and has now run out (ie. "failed"), what's going to change?
**A:** We are now "over the hump", set-up for success.

**Further needs:**

- Better explanation of Web3 protocol models.

Sepratelely, if Gnosis Chain is marketing themselves as the "DAO Chain" shouldn't they support their main DAO tooling?

**Potential Paths Forward**

Path #1: Bring this all back to Gnosis Builders and show them why it makes sense to support.

Path #2: Bring all this awesome info directly to GNO whales within Gnosis DAO and bring the ask directly back to Gnosis DAO via onchain proposal. Need the known support of the GNO whales ahead of time (Auryn as an example).

Path #3: Bring value prop to other chains. Probably focus on proper L2s
