# Migrate a DAO on Polygon
### Before you begin:
Set a time period where the dao will halt proposals
This is a great opportunity to check with the dao if any parameters should be updated (i.e., timing, deposit token/amounts, etc)
Make sure everyone's on board with the migration and aware of when the migration will take place
Prepare a method for your dao to transfer the funds in the DAO from mainnet over the bridge to polygon
## Prep DAO for migration
1. Go to your DAO's setting page
2. Click 'Migrate/Clone DAO'
3. You'll land on the Summon page with your dao settings copied.
## Summon the DAO
1. Switch to Polygon Network (add Polygon Network button?)
2. Make sure all DAO params are accurate. *Optional: Make any desired changes to parameters*
3. After params are confirmed, make sure you're connected to Polygon and click 'Summon'
4. Sign the transaction in Metamask (double-check you're still on the Polygon Network)
5. After the transaction completes, you will have a copy of your DAO on Polygon, with all members and their respective shares/loot copied.
## Migrate Funds
The last step is to migrate the actual funds from your DAO on mainnet to your new cloned dao on Polygon
The quickest, easiest method is to simply trust a member, who we affectionately refer to as the 'bandit'.
1. Send a token and its full balance to the member who will act as the 'bandit'
2. The bandit can bridge that token to Polygon here ->
3. Once the tokens are on Polygon, the bandit can send them directly to the new DAO's address on Polygon.
4. Once the transaction is successful, go to your DAO's /bank page, and click 'Sync' by the token that was sent.
5. The tokens are now available to use for your new dao on polygon
Gnosis Safes can be used in place of an individual for a more decentralized 'bandit' method. However, Gnosis Safe is not yet available on Polygon, though it is expected to arrive very soon.
