MIDAO is a response to DAOs needing to be legal entities to open bank accounts, receive grants or to address certain liability and intellectual property concerns. In 2021 MIDAO helped the Marshall Islands pass laws that create a legal scenario favorable for DAOs. The Marshall Islands also have a long history of serving shipping companies, with ships coming and going. This uniquely equips them to serve DAOs, which in a way, are everywhere all at once. MIDAO and their partner organizations use Gnosis Safes.
