# Yeeter tweet thread #2
## Main thread
👅,👅
🆈🅴🅴🆃🅴🆁 is a new crowdfunding primitive
It simultaneously...
A) collects funds into a treasury for the project to spend, and
B) maintains funders' custody over their contributions
This was impossible before Yeeter, and it changes the game
Why? How? Read on 👇
[...]
First, we're celebrating this new primitive with some good old dogfood 🐶
A Yeeter for the Yeeter platform itself!
Give it a spin by sending in some xDAI to join the Yeeter DAO🤑
You can always withdraw your funds later if you change your mind
https://yeet.daohaus.club/dao/0x64/0x84be703b54909c15eb92dbe129f45ef308401e10
[...]
Now back to WHY
Most web3 crowdfunding today looks like this:
- Funders send money to a multisig controlled by the project team
- The project team then spends the funds from the multisig to advance the project
The funders have no real control over how the funds are spent 🤷♂️
[...]
Even if funders receive a governance token in return, they typically can only signal (but not actually control!) how they want the funds to be spent
Ultimately, funders are left to trust that the project team will spend the funds wisely 😬
[...]
Yeeter changes crowdfunding to look like this:
- Funders send money to a DAO treasury and receive non-voting shares
- The project team has voting shares, and makes proposals to spend the funds from the treasury
- Funders can withdraw their funds if they don't like a proposal
[...]
Did you see that? 👀
In Yeeter fundraising, funders retain full custody of their money!
This creates super strong protections for funders against project team fraud, theft, and incompetence 🔒
[...]
Yeeter is fantastic for funders, and its pretty awesome for projects too
Those funder protections massively lower the barrier to contributing, enabling projects to crowdfund much more than they could before 🤑
[...]
That's not all
Under the hood, Yeeter uses a Moloch DAO to manage the crowdfunded treasury
This is where the proposals are made and how funders can withdraw their contributions (via ragequit)
But it also gives a crowdfunded project a built-in coordination mechanism ⚙️
[...]
Yeeter crowdfunds are more than trust-minimized crowdfunds
They are also an easy way to bootstrap a purpose-driven community DAO...a DAO that comes with all the incredible @nowdaoit tools for coordination
[...]
So what are you waiting for?
Come test out this brand new primitive -- Yeet with confidence!
