Notes: 9/2/2021 (S3Ep1) Join us for 🎉 Haus Party Live 🎉 every Thursday at 2pm EST on the [DAOhaus Discord](https://discord.gg/daohaus) **Topics** - Talking with [The DAOist](https://www.thedaoist.co/) folks **Hosts & Guests** - Felipe Duarte, dekanbro, Vanilladelphia.eth - [The DAOist](https://www.thedaoist.co/) folks: Felipe, Guil, Inga --- 🌱 Welcome to our metaphorical garden! 🌱 ## Introduction - [The DAOist](https://www.thedaoist.co/) started in Paris during EthCC and will be happening in [Eth Lisbon](https://www.ethlisbon.org/) - Have partnered with Gnosis to make a workshop track - Potentially will have a *Safe with DAOhaus* workshop - The DAOist started as a reaction to lack of tickets to EthCC - Ended up organizing a *gigantic side event* — evolved from a small Telegram group of DAOists and grew to an event with sponsors, speakers, and after parties - Telegram group now has nearly 400 people! - Everything came together into a beautiful event and the goal is to continue it ## Updates (DAOhaus Universe) - The Club Mate has arrived at dekan's house! - We have new POAPs for the show - Adrienne designed the new POAPs for this season — all Season 3 POAPs will be unique for each episode - Gnosis Safes can control Molochs, and Molochs can control Gnosis Safes - Won't necessarily see this in the interface, but treasuries and vaults inside DAOs will be backed my safes - Opens up lots of composability across projects — things that worked with safes can now work within DAOs - Multicall coming soon — can stack proposals together - This will be more extendable by community members looking to add modules - Support for Arbitrum (and other networks) coming soon if they go through proposal processes with UberHaus - Likely will see NFT DAOs soon! ## The DAOist - Do folks in the audience know what The DAOist is? - Felipe has prior experience in events — what about Inga and Guil? - Guil's second crypto event (1st was EthCC!) — new to crypto space - Inga had been going to hackathons and began working with Felipe on planning this event - From initial bond, they started building something bigger than an initial event — want to test the waters for the larger vision ### The Embassy - Imagine The DAOist as a space for DAOists "to discuss and advance the decentralized lifestyle that never had to stop" - Guest space with media rooms, hacker labs, Club Mate, bedrooms, etc. - Folks co-working and co-creating and then having a space to present their results - Check out [CabinDAO](https://twitter.com/creatorcabins)'s art residency process — there could be shared learnings on the process - Felipe's objective is to create an embassy that produces content that is evergreen and long lasting (especially in the face of regulation) - Document is under construction - Seeking support to make this dream a shared reality for DAOists ### DAOist Content streams - 2 different streams: *Culture* and *Education* - NFTs: [DAOist Perspectives](https://opensea.io/collection/thedaoistperspectives) - First one is up on OpenSea - Purchase them you receive a Polaroid and a fraction of the larger drawing inside an envelop paired with a video - This is *all about the people* - There is a lot of people talking about DAOs — who is talking about the people "taking the leap into decentralized life" ## DAOist Team Backgrounds - Inga - Artist who worked in communication — all the spheres that Inga is interested in are connected to the future and "there is no better way to change the future than to change the present" - Communication *changes the future* through outreach - Art *changes the future* through creating beautiful things - Has done many things — cosmetic brand - Guil - Met Felipe in college — after college they built their own design agency and ran this for many years - Has always been interested in social change and exploring how people interact with the world - Goal of the Embassy is to reenact house in Rio where folks could come in as co-owners and work together and co-create — "a radical experiment" in creating a *[Temporary Autonomous Zone* (Hakim Bey)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporary_Autonomous_Zone) - This was the beginning of *radical decentralization* - Folks invited in and were responsible for the good and bad — rooted in transparency - Experiment ended and they moved to Berlin with idea to do something similar - DAOs were still in conceptual phase during this stage — now that the technology and processes exist these goals are being revisited ## DAOs and Culture - Are we witnessing a cultural movement? - When does The DAOist start up in other locales? - Local DAOists?
